Junk Car Buyers That Take Cars With No Title in Florida

Florida does allow a junk car to change hands without a title, but only within one rule, and the yards on this page say on their own websites that they work inside it. A licensed salvage motor vehicle dealer or a registered secondary metals recycler may take a derelict motor vehicle without a title using form HSMV 82137 when the vehicle is worth under $1,000 and is at least ten model years old. The yard must report it to the national title database and hold it three business days before dismantling it.

A newer or more valuable car still needs a title, a salvage title or a certificate of destruction, and a lost title is replaced with form HSMV 82101 at your county tax collector for the state duplicate fee. When you call a yard on this list, have the year, the condition and your photo ID ready, since the form asks the seller to identify themselves. The listing's other tiles tell you whether the same yard tows for free and pays at pickup.
